1What the error means
Error 8202 refers to reverse current in the PV generator or a disturbance of the inverter.
The fault may appear sporadically or continuously, depending on the cause.
Error 8202 "Interference device" appears and the red LED lights up. The device short-circuits the affected input to prevent dangerous reverse currents in the damaged module string. The Sunny Tripower can continue feeding in with the unaffected input.
Possible causes of reverse currents in the PV generator are:
- Asymmetrical strings on input A or alternating string connections between inputs A and B
- Module defects
- Reverse polarity
- In rare cases: shading
2What to do
- Note the code and the inverter model (nameplate on the side of the unit).
- Switch off the grid (AC) breaker and switch it on again after 2–3 minutes.
- If the error returns or keeps recurring, do not keep restarting the unit — contact us for a diagnosis.
