1What the error means
Code 6437 belongs to the event group 6001 to 6438. SMA documents this group as self-diagnosis, meaning an internal interference of the device. The inverter detected an anomaly during its internal check, often at start-up before connecting to the grid. For this reason it does not connect and does not feed in energy. The manufacturer does not assign a separate cause to each code in the group. The exact cause is identified through diagnosis in the workshop.
2Possible causes
- Fault on the power board
- Worn grid relay
- Fault in the measuring or control circuit
- Ageing of internal components due to thermal stress
3What to do
- Perform a full restart: disconnect the AC side and then the DC switch. Wait at least 5 minutes, then reconnect DC first and AC afterwards.
- Check the AC fuses and the AC cable connection at the inverter and in the distribution board.
- Note the code and when it appears, for example at start-up or during operation.
- If the fault persists after the restart, the inverter needs to be checked in the workshop.
