- Error code
- 7002
- Category
- Temperature sensor fault
- Manufacturer
- SMA
1What the error means
SMA codes 7001 and 7002 indicate a sensor fault with the fan permanently on. The inverter receives an invalid or out-of-range temperature reading from an internal sensor. As a protective measure, it runs the fan continuously and may limit its output power. This shows up as reduced yield. The exact cause is identified through diagnosis in the workshop.
2Possible causes
- Faulty internal temperature sensor
- Fault in the temperature measuring circuit of the control board
- Fault in a power section of the inverter
- Component ageing due to long-term thermal stress
3What to do
- Disconnect the inverter on the AC and DC side, wait a few minutes and switch it back on.
- Make sure the installation site is adequately ventilated and the ventilation openings are not blocked.
- If the fault persists or reappears frequently, the inverter needs to be checked in the workshop.
4Repair by Aineas
You send the inverter to our lab in Thessaloniki. We diagnose it, inform you of the fault and the cost, and the repair starts only after you approve it. Every inverter is tested under simulated operating conditions before delivery.
