1What the error means
Code 6429 belongs to the event group 6001 to 6438, which SMA classifies as self-diagnosis / device disturbance. Through its internal checks, the inverter has detected an anomaly in its hardware and stops feeding energy into the grid for protection. The exact cause cannot be derived from the code itself and is identified through diagnosis in the workshop.
2Possible causes
- Fault in the inverter's power electronics circuit
- Fault on a control board or in the measuring circuit
- Ageing or thermal stress of electronic components
- Stress caused by overvoltage or transient events in the installation
3What to do
- Perform a full restart: switch off the AC breaker and the DC switch, wait a few minutes, then switch on DC first and AC afterwards.
- Check that the AC fuses are switched on and that the AC and DC connections at the inverter are secure and show no visible damage.
- If the fault reappears after the restart, the inverter needs to be checked in the workshop.
