1What the error means
Code 6301 belongs to the event group 6001 to 6438, which SMA documents as "self-diagnosis – internal device disturbance". The inverter has detected a malfunction in its own electronics during its internal checks. For safety reasons it does not connect to the grid, or it disconnects from it. The code alone does not identify the exact faulty point. The cause is determined by diagnosis in the workshop.
2Possible causes
- Fault on the inverter's power board
- Malfunction in electronic control or measuring circuits
- Worn grid relay
- Stress on the electronics from moisture, high temperatures or overvoltages
3What to do
- Perform a full restart: disconnect the AC side and the DC side in the order specified in the SMA manual. Wait a few minutes and reconnect.
- Check that the inverter is properly ventilated and that there are no signs of moisture or condensation at the installation site.
- Note whether the fault appears immediately or after some time in operation. This information helps the diagnosis.
- If the fault persists after the restart, the inverter needs to be checked in the workshop.
