1What the error means
Code 6433 belongs to the event group 6001 to 6438, which SMA documents as self-diagnosis with an internal device disturbance. The inverter has detected a fault in its own electronic circuits and stops operating for protection. The manufacturer does not specify a separate cause for each code in this group. The exact cause is identified through diagnosis in the workshop.
2Possible causes
- Fault on a power board of the inverter
- Fault in the control or measuring circuit
- Damage to internal components caused by overvoltage, lightning or moisture
- Component wear due to ageing or high temperatures
3What to do
- Switch off the inverter on the AC and DC side, wait at least 5 minutes and switch it on again.
- Check that the DC switch is on and that the string connectors are properly plugged in.
- Check the AC fuses and that grid voltage reaches the inverter.
- If the fault persists after the restart, the inverter needs to be checked in the workshop.
